Wreck Dives – Exploring wrecks
There are 4 Wreck training dives to complete to become a PADI Wreck Diver specialist.
Wreck Diver training dive #1
Explore and experience the excitement of diving a ship wreck. Learn how to safely plan and execute a wreck dive deeper than 18 metres
Swim along the outside ofthe wreck whilst identifying and avoiding many of the potential hazards.
Wreck Diver training dive #2
On your second dive of the the wreck we would like you to create an outline map of the wreck with features and detail.
Calculate approximate size and mark points of interest. We will also ask you to survey the wreck, evaluating possible entrances & exits in preparation for a penetration dive the next day.
Wreck Diver training dive #3
On this dive you will practice the deployment and retrieval of a penetration line in the same way as you practiced on land the previous day.
This time you will be underwater on the outside of the wreck, swimming along the deployed penetration line so as to maintain contact with the line without kicking up any silt and whilst holding the dive light.
Wreck Diver training dive #4
This is your final training dive of the course and time to explore inside the the wreck.
We will ask you to plan and perform a wreck penetration dive that enters and exits the wreck.
You will focus on moving through the wreck without causing excessive silt disturbance and using a dive light whilst keeping contact with the line.
Upon completion of all the requirements you will be certified as a PADI Wreck Specialty Diver.
