PADI Open Water Diver
Open Water Diver is the first scuba certification level. our highly-trained PADI Instructors will teach you how to scuba dive in a relaxed, supportive learning environment. By the end of the course, you'll have the skills and knowledge to dive at home or abroad and be an ambassador for the underwater world.
Learn to scuba dive and become a PADI Open Water diver gaining a license to dive anywhere in the world to a depth of 18 metres.
The OTB PADI Open Water Course includes:
- PADI eLearning credit & all knowledge development
- 5 shallow (confined) water training dives
- 4 Open Water training dives
- PADI Certification card
- Rental of all scuba equipment
- FREE use of Dive Computer
- Log book
To enrol on a PADI Open Water diver course you must be:
- Minimum 10 years of age
- Medicall fit to dive
- Float for 10 minutes and swim a short distance
We conduct the Open Water course over 3 – 4 days.
The course consists of three sections:
- Knowledge Development – eLearning conducted prior to arrival
- Confined water training – conducted in the swimming pool
- Open Water training – 4 x Open Water training dives in the lakes of Alberta or one of our ocean destinations
At OTB Diving we take our customer satsifaciton very seriously by limiting the student numbers for each course to ensure everyone gets the attention the need and progress at the best pace for their needs.
Our Instructors are highly trained and will ensure you receive lots of attention and progress at your own pace in a relaxed environment. During your training we will slowly build your confidence and ability as you develop the skills necessary to become a PADI Open Water diver.
